Let's Talk about Books!

Speaking to librarians

There's NOTHING I like better than talking about books!

Whether you're an English language learner or a longtime lover of literature, I'd love to talk WITH YOU!

I can meet you for a 30- or 60-minute chat on Facebook Messenger.

How to Sign Up

It's easy to sign up:

  • Choose a book or author you'd like to talk about.
  • OR Look at the many articles I've posted online and choose one to discuss. (If you want to choose an article, pay special attention to section 8, as it's mostly about stories).
  • Decide when you're free to chat.
  • Send me a note by email or on Facebook. telling me what you want to discuss, and when you can meet. Telling me where in the world you are can help us find the perfect time.
  • I will
    • tell you how to send payment (by bank deposit or other means, depending on where you are) and
    • ask when you are available.
  • When we're ready, I will
    • ask you to pay me,
    • send you a few questions to start the discussion, and
    • suggest a time to meet.
  • If you agree, we're on!

Please remember that things don't always work out according to plan: I live in the Philippines, where the power sometimes goes out, or the internet goes down. If either of us has a problem connecting at the agreed-upon time, we'll keep rescheduling until we meet--I promise!

The Price

The price for a discussion is just

  • $9.00 per 1/2-hour or $15 per hour, from the US and most other countries
  • ₱500 per 1/2-hour or ₱900 per hour if you're in the Philippines (where you can pay by GCash).

Oh, and if you don't know what you want to talk about, let's talk about that!

I can't wait to meet you!
