The Ten-Year Reading Plan (10YP)

Note: Links have been added to each entry with a Listing. This label will show you the Listing of every author included in the plan.

--------

Lists of the two Great Books series themselves (1952 and 1990) can be found here.

The Plan as shown here is adapted from one on the "Great Conversation Reading Group" page. Their plan, like this one, uses all the readings from both plans. Following their convention:
  • Readings with NO asterisk are in both the 1952 and the 1990 plans.
  • Readings with ONE asterisk (*) are in the 1952 plan only.
  • Readings with TWO asterisks (**) are in the 1990 plan only.
Note that the plan in its original form (for the 1952 edition only) can be read in Hutchins's The Great Conversation beginning on pages 181-182 in the Archive.org reader, which is page 112 of the original volume. And a complete 1990 plan with page numbers etc. (on which I have relied heavily for my version) is in jpeg format on the "Prophetic Progress" page.
