• What it is: Icelandic saga about the friends Njáll Thorgeirsson (a scholar) and Gunnar Hámundarson (a warrior) and their involvement in feuding (much of it caused by Gunnar's evil wife Hallgerdr) that leads to the death of Njall by fire.
